review | burn after reading (2008)

Brad Pitt is funny. There was a time when I thought he was a bit wooden, but then I think that was after I saw him in Meet Joe Black, and he plays Death, who’s not really known for being the most enigmatic of characters so perhaps I was a bit harsh.

Anyway, he is funny. Fact. You only need to watch Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve or Thirteen to see it. Or Burn After Reading, for he is hilarious in it. I giggled through all his scenes. In fact, I can’t remember much about the rest of the film, other than it rolls along nicely like a Coen brothers’ film should do. And that John Malkovich is excellent when he’s mad, and that Tilda Swinton and George Clooney are an odd pairing, and that I was a bit disturbed by the contraption in Harry’s basement.

Rating: ★★★½☆
