review | i love you, man (2009)

I think anything that Paul Rudd or Jason Segel do is motherflipping awesome, and so it was pretty predictable that this would become my best fillum so far this year (if not ever). There is only one thing not to like about it, and that is the fact that Paul Rudd’s fiancée’s name is spelt ‘Zooey’. WTF? Who the hell spells their name like that? It’s not something that warrants the removal of any stars though, so all’s good.

If you’ve seen the trailer, you’ll know what this film’s about. Peter Klaven’s getting married and he’s got no mates. He ends up meeting Sydney Fife (Jason Segel), they hang out loads (with hilarious consequences), and his search for a best man might just be over.

As always with Paul Rudd, his delivery is cool as. The scene with him playing air bass made me laugh til my tummy hurt and I had tears (proper ones, too) rolling down my face. There are plenty of memorable quotes to replace the ones from Forgetting Sarah Marshall that you may or may not have done to death (Steve), and it’s got Lou Ferrigno in. All the reasons you need to go see it. NOW.
